Enabling the football community to build an ecofriendly football through a competition for the FIFA 2022 world cup

The FIFA World cup is one of the greatest sporting events in the world. Players and audience from all corners of the world come together for this event. Naturally, such an event would cost a lot to prepare and organize.
But
It doesn't just cost us money, it could also cost us our future on this beautiful planet.
The time has come for us to draw the line.
The footballs themselves require the use of chemicals, energy, and water. It also generates a significant amount of waste in the product's lifecycle.
Together we can make a difference as the 12th man on the biggest stage in the world.
It's about providing our planet some extra time.
Our client Ballon wanted to reach out to the football community to innovate eco-friendly footballs to inspire FIFA at the 2022 world cup.
How might we create a collaborative platform for users to innovate eco-friendly footballs and convince FIFA for the 2022 world cup.
What is 4-3-tree?
The world’s most popular sport not only harbors the most fans but poses danger to the planet we call home.

We worked in designing the structure/ wireframe of an online Platform to start a grassroots movement for participants to design and finally present a stage to present to FIFA a more environmentally friendly football so that the next World cup will not bring joy to just the fans but also the planet.

The forum inspired by a more structured and simpler form of Reddit and discord- people could voice their opinions and share knowledge in a more free and informal way.
Building a maintaining a team was an important part of the project- inspired by the ease of filtering professionals in LinkedIn. Also the ease of updating timelines to let the community know your progress.

We set out to develop an App that allowed people to enter and participate in a global grassroots movement to develop a more ecologically sustainable football.

I shaped the journey map, mapping out the exact checkpoints in the event from onboarding to deciding the winners to finally pitching it to FIFA and making it the official match ball.

I wanted the contestants to feel the occasion and seize it just like the players. This is why I have heavily emphasized collaboration and group interactions.

Voting procedure to decide the final winner contributed by fans and a select final panel alike.

A charity tournament will be organized staring some of the most famous youtube football freestyles and lucky participants and will be broadcasted live for the world to see through youtube and Facebook live. The winning ball will be used in the match to present the quality and innovation to generate a buzz around the product.

Officials from all over the world shall be present including those from FIFA
Press conference
There will be an official press conference by the managers and players to declare the winner after the game. In the build-up to the world cup match ball announcement, plenty of such high profile matches will be played and shared through football social media accounts and generate a buzz.

This will catch the attention of FIFA to help them pursue the winner's match ball to become the official match ball for World Cup 2022
Most Importantly
The goal of the competition isn't to win the match ball but incite change and bring global awareness on the biggest stage of world football.
